I chose to use a neutral, nautical inspired palette. The colors that border on one another are carefully chosen and layered in order to create a slight tension with overall harmony. The coordinates for the Statue of Liberty are photo-transferred onto the surface. I finish the final piece with layers of matte medium.Typically my work is photography based, so painting is a freeing experience and an exercise in creating an immersive color experience.
