The artist’s peacock feather design is inspired by the opulence of nature. This design began in O’Brien’s sketchbook, was printed on silk velvet, then hand-painted in small batches by artisans in Philadelphia. Dye is applied by hand in layers on the velvet fiber surface. Variations in color are part of the nature of our unique dyeing process.
